Vic Rice paper roll is something like springrolls, but not fried and therefore healthier. kinda like popiah the wrapper is made of rice, like in this picture and the filling can be anything, but usually it consists of glass noodle (mung bean thread / tang hoon) or rice vermicelli (bee hoon), vietnamese mint, coriander, prawn. For lunch yesterday, I put bee hoon, bean sprout, mango, carrot & avocado. The vegetable were marinated in thai sweet chilli sauce & lime juice. I might try making it with popiah fillings next time i.e. lots of crunchy peanuts & sweet sauce.

My adaptation of Linlin's Stuffed Mushrooms, had it for lunch yesterday. I didn't follow Linlin's recipe exactly, because i only had 4 big mushrooms in the fridge . Also i don't have 5 types of cheese, so I used a mixture of parmesan + light tasty cheese (cheddar?) Taste wonderful and hubby loves it.

Most CNY biscuits are sweet, so for a change, I made this savoury tidbits - made from glutinous rice flour + cheese + desiccated coconut.

Baked this yesterday for the family. Recipe courtesy of Edith.. thanks edith. Turned out pretty well. Hubby said the best cake i hv baked so far. The top looks lumpy huh... Girls, that's NOT the way to bake a cake . I did even out the batter, but then... i dripped the left over on the spatula back into the tin

Janny, I made this today as well using Edith recipe. However I don't have high round cake pan, so I had to pour my batter up to the top and still got some leftover for a small rectangle pan. Needless to say, my cake got no place to rise but maintain the height of my round cake pan which was about 2 inches (half the height of your cake). I have a bundt pan and a tube pan, do you think I can bake this Japanese cheese cake using those pans?
