i have too much free time..... actually, i haven't updated my website for ages now. and the forum - as you know it is self-running. not that i need to approve (censor ;D) messages or anything.... the only thing that i do extra from you Jo, is updating my blog which is basically just like posting a message in a forum. no big deal. so.. when can we see your blog Jo? No lah, I don't think I will start a blog. Too much work. Maintaining the website and forum is enough for me. Sometimes I do find myself could not cope with it. Too bad....

A marble cake. Baked this using Sea Dragon's recipe again. Actually wanted to try other recipe too, but this one uses the least amount of butter ;D Lily suggested that i pour in the batter in order. So that the cake looks like a flower than the normal marble cake look. So Lily, is this all right?

the cake looks delicious and marbled. for the flower effect one has to layer THINLY the colors and gets smaller(less batter) as the layers reach the top. the cake will level itself when baking. have not done it for so long, hope it is right. let me do one now and let you know the result

i baked the cake, like you it cracked, i had to add an extra egg yolk as the batter was too dry. should have added more milk or the egg white as well. the top is too crusty that's why. baked at 325 f convection, should have lowered it to 300 and more liquid as the fan will evaporated some moisture. but the taste is good. the thin layers come out pretty instead of marble but cake domes too much, maybe next time do the layering at the sides and leave a slight crater.

i have gone over marble cake recipe and found that the flour measurement is 1 1/2 cups which if using british cup will be 6 ozs which is perfect for recipe but i used 225 gm and it is say too much flour. it did not cross my mind that there should be any typo as you have made this cake twice. this traditional cake cake will crack.

Bought some Tamarillo from Cameron Highland. Researched on the internet and found a recipe for muffins using this fruit. Verdict: Moist with tangy taste
