My rice cooker is something I brought over with me when I moved here. It's a National, with features such as White Rice/Quick Cooking, Steam, Porridge 1 hr, Porridge 3 hr, Slow Cooking 1hr, Slow Cooking 3 hr. I love it. I also used is in place of a crockpot (slow cooker). However, it has plastic exterior that my husband dislikes. Since all our other appliances are stainless steel, he has been bugging me about replacing my rice cooker to achieve a uniform look in the kitchen. But, so far I haven't found a stainless steel rice cooker that has all the features mine has. Some, eventhough they look good, are just too basic. Only for cooking rice and keeping warm. That's it. No slow cooking, and.... no porridge . For a teochew girl like me, that's a no-no definitely.

actually you don't really need a rice cooker, i suppose. you can always cook rice on the stove, or in the microwave.
tante gaul, thanks for your offer. what i said is that I LOVE my rice cooker. Don't want to replace it eventhough my husband wanted to.
