Storage Never put away anything dirty. Food stains will attract moths and sweaty odours will sully the rest of your wardrobe. Make sure everything is laundered or dry-cleaned before you put it away. Delicaten sequinned dresses must be wrapped in tissue paper and store flat.
Cleaning Lingerie must be washe in a lingerie bag to avoid it getting tangled. Sort your laundry by colour.
Keeping it dark Wash your clothes inside out to prevent colour fading. Avoid the tumble-dryer. New jeans should be washed in cold water, inside out and for the first wash, don't use detergent. This will keep them dark. Dry them away from direct sunlight.
Stain Oil and wine stains - cover immediately with baby powder or finely ground salt. Let it sit for a few hours before brushing off with a dry cloth or tissue. If the affected fabric is silk, wool or rayon, it will need dry-cleaning. Other fabrics can be washed in water below 40 degrees. Fruit stains - remove with white vinegar Pen and make up stains - use a dab or rubbing alcohol, and if necessary, follow up with acetone before washing. Chocolate, blood and oil based-stains - use a laundry detergent that contains enzymes.
After you have treated a spot stain, rinse the aea with water. Dry it immediately with a hairdryer or hand-dryer (on a low setting) or you risk getting a water mark.
