Janny, the recipe and pictures are up on 'jose deli' (hehe ;D). Feel free to browse. Edith, it's Saturday morning now. Still haven't started any baking yet. Lazy bugs hit, what to do . Haven't had any inspiration yet, like lily said.

Finally....it was sufficiently 'hard' for me to successfully achieve this. My first attempt following a totally different recipe from a book (using agar2 powder) was a total disaster - had to throw it out because it was too 'watery' (sigh...grumble, grumble...). er...taste wise only so-so. But looks pretty right?? ;D Hi Kirsten Can you "teach" us how to make this agar-agar? I can't seem to make it this pretty.

Can you "teach" us how to make this agar-agar? I can't seem to make it this pretty. Nora, it is actually not too difficult...only have to be very patient! When your first layer has firmed up, using a cookie cutter (any shape u like), cut out pattern in a straight uniform line, leaving sufficient space between each shape. Remove the cut out pattern (to be eaten separately). Pour the second agar2 layer (preferably of a different colour) and allow to firm up. Unmould your agar2 and cut up using an agar2 knife. Hope this helps.

Since we had a long weekend (labour day)....i was able to try a few things.... second attempt at pineapple tarts (yeah i know that they look more like mini-pumpkins!!) honeydew melon muffin maize kueh (original colour - note that i could have used some yellow colouring to make it prettier but my mum said that since its home made, I should avoid it, so anyway....) Also tried making or ni (see the oil oozing out...my grandpa said that is how they make it !! Which er... can easily be rectified after a trip to the refridgerator!)

Tks Jan, yes the same though mine is plastic (hehehe...not so authentic!). I've seen (a while ago) one which is longer and shorter in width.
