that's what grandma is for - spoilt the grandchildren. An advise to all you ladies who are mothers or will be mothers, and are mil or will be one, be a useful one and mind your own business, give the young ones space. as i have been advised to be 'kuai kuai' Lily, your approach is right. If only my MIL is as enlightened as you are. She wanted to "control" our life - to decide what is "best" for us.

Ching, thanx for ur encouragement & support. Yesterday, we went to view an apartment...we both like the layout alot, but honestly, I do not know what my husband thinks...cos he said, we should view more before deciding. He is pretty fussy abt places. I can understand that but deep inside me, I hope we will be able to move out as soon as possible since we've finally found one that we both like after so many months...what's best, this place is quite a distance from in-laws' place. Perhaps, your husband is being cautious. Don't want to regret later. After hearing what you said, staying a distance from your in-laws' place would be good. Wish you luck and hope you get your own house soon.

Lin Just a few pointers ;D Not too close, so the in laws can't drop in all the time. But not too far either, or else, every time they visit they will spent a night.

lily, sadly nope. FIL doesn't even want to touch what I cook...MIL, for some reasons...tho she always says my cooking is good (dunno whether she really means it or not or juz being polite), when I ask her to eat with us, she doesn't want to. As for my BIL, he's a very picky eater who only eats steak & nothing else. So I only cook for my husband & his nephew & I always emphasise on balanced diet. I guess the only person who appreciates my cooking is my husband.
