you poor Lin. never mind they don't know how to appreciate your food. mine is like that too. In the end, i gave up offerring.
I only care whether my hubby and kids likes it or not. As long as they are enjoying my cooking and baking which matter to me most.

linlin, if mil don't sit down with the rest of the family, what does she eat? Oh, something which I didn't mention here. The whole family, except hubby, nephew & me, eats at 10pm every night, weekends they eat at 11pm...cos FIL works in the restaurant till this late. I know my MIL expects us to wait up this late to eat with the whole family but this is something which I will definitely not agree. Now this explains how & where my hubby got his tummy probs from. Before I moved over, he eats at irregular hrs, juz like the whole family. I juz dun understand why MIL has to do this to the whole family. In actual fact, she can cook dinner earlier so that the guys in the family can have their dinner first, then save some food for FIL when he comes back. BUT NO, she has to get everyone to wait up till that late...she thinks everyone eats at 10pm like they do! Edith, now I really dun care whether they like my food or not. I juz cook the right portions for us & ur right, as long as my hubby appreciates it, who cares abt the others?

linlin, if they eat that late that what time do they sleep? what time do they get up? weird.... tt, this family is super night owl family. FIL will watch tv till wee hrs, abt 2 or 3am then he will switch off & go to sleep. BIL, super of the super night owl...sometimes I would be waken up by the loud water pipe at 6am...cos he is having his bath, not because he wakes up early but he hasn't go to bed yet! As to what time they wake up, well cos they all work late, so they only have to get up in the late morning/noon. I will have to say their lifestyle is very "alien" to me

But very hard......hubby sometimes works late Hence, I dun wait for hubby if he comes home late. I will still eat my dinner at my usual time, he will also ask me not to wait up for him

linlin,
Then you have a fridge and pantry of your own? Meals taken at the hour is super already.

lily, unfortunately nope...I dun have my own fridge or pantry. It still pisses me big time cos they are so messy while I love to pack my stuff in a systematic way. Hence, I get really frustrated having to share the fridge/pantry with them.

Lin I really hope that you can still be patient & put up a brave front. Don't let all these things get into you. It might affect your health - physically & mentally. This is no joke as I read this article in ananova.com. Do you know that there's such a syndrome called the mother-in-law syndrome? I never knew until now. www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_1450861.html?menu=news.quirkiesIt might sound funny but it's true. Lin, do take care of yourself, ya!

nora, thanx for the article. I read thru & found that really, it does increase my nervousness & anxiety. I think I am also suffering from depression from time to time
