Janny, your Banana Cake is dark brown in colour? What did you put in? I didn't put anything apart from additional of 1/2 tsp banana essence. Don't think that would change the appearance huh since it is clear (although I might increase that to 1 tsp next time). Maybe it is my lighting. Too dark in the kitchen.

Very pretty cake, Lynda Can I have the recipe for the ganache? It seems i still can't get mine right. Thanks Janny. It's chocolate topping to me 200g cooking chocolate- cut thinly 1 tsp icing sugar 3Tbsp water 2 Tbsp butter 4 Tbsp coffee liqueur Steam chocolate, sugar and water over pot- prevent chocolate get in contact with water and vapour. Stir chocolate till it melts. Add in butter. When melted, cool awhile. Pour in coffee liqueur and leave aside.

Edith how did u do it and how does it taste like? I will post the recipe at my blog once I get the "clearance". What you need is to make the ice cream ball when the ice cream is alittle soft and then refreeze it. The dough must be cool off before you "wrap" them. For easier version, you can try this. It is a nice little dessert coz' it is not too sweet. I dipped the chilled strawberry in chocolate and wrapped with the cool dough.

I've never had mochi until 2 weeks ago, I bought a pack of green tea mochi back home to try. It was a bit too sweet for my taste but I love the green tea ice cream inside. Edith's strawberry dipped chocolate mochi is definitely something new to me, & they look very cute too, bet they taste even better

Sorry for the absence! After my computer went dead, I lost the link to this forum. Luckily I found it at Jo's website. Oh man....all those pictures are making me drool. It definitely makes me want to make something. Oh ladies, got a question. How do you make custard cream filling? I bought a custard powder while in M'sia, and I don't know how to make it. The cookbook that I had said mix milk with the powder and blend well...but all I got was a runny liquid. Ended out had to throw 2 batches in the trash. Oh, I used cold milk and stir it with a spoon.

Belachan,
you need to scald the milk, dilute the custard powder with 1 or 2 tbsp of cold milk, and when milk is nearing boiling, pour in the custard powder mixture stiring all the time, return to fire and cook until it is cooked through. turn off fire and place a cling wrap on the custard to prevent skin from forming while cooling.
